Trusted care for your pets at AB Petsitting Services, we pride ourselves on providing reliable, loving care for your pets while you're away.

With a network of experienced pet sitters across Gauteng. We're always nearby and ready to help.

Every one of our sitters is thoroughly screened and approved to ensure your peace of mind.
Need specialized care? Many of our sitters are trained and comfortable administering medication—whether orally or via injection.

Hourly Petsitting (R230 for the first hour, then R117 for each additional hour.)

We also offer flexible in-home sitting options, with dedicated sitters available to stay with your furbabies for a few hours, perfect if you prefer they’re never left alone.

Full day (R530.00)

One of our trusted sitters will spend the whole day at your home, keeping your pets company while you’re out, usually from 08:00 to 17:00.

Daily visit (@R230.00 per visit)

One of our caring sitters will visit your home once a day to feed, refresh water, and spend quality time playing with your pet. We’ll also bring in the post and tidy up any little messes your furbaby may have left behind, because it’s the small things that matter.

Stay in Petsitting (R360.00)

Your petsitter will stay in your home overnight to keep your pets company and give them a sense of comfort and security. They may step out during the day for work or errands, but your furbabies will always be loved and cared for while you're away.

House sitting (R340.00)

Even if you don’t have pets, we’re happy to house sit for added peace of mind. Whether it’s just to keep your home safe, collect post, or make sure everything stays in order while you’re away we’re here to help.

Intensive Stay in Petsitting (R480.00)

For pets who need a little extra love or simply don’t like being alone, we offer full-time stay-in care. Your sitter will remain in your home around the clock and won’t leave until you return, making sure your furbaby feels safe, calm, and cared for every moment you're away.

Requirements

1. Basic Qualifications

Love for animals and comfort with handling various pet breeds and temperaments.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with pet care (personal or professional), including feeding, walking, cleaning, and administering medications.
Basic knowledge of animal behaviour and safety protocols.

2. Skills

Responsible and reliable — trustworthiness is critical when entering clients' homes and caring for pets.
Time management — ability to stick to feeding, walking, and medication schedules.
Communication skills — able to update pet owners clearly and promptly (text, photos, calls).
Problem-solving — know how to handle minor pet emergencies or behavioural issues.

3. Physical Requirements

Ability to walk dogs of various sizes and strengths.
Able to lift or carry pets (if needed), litter, food bags, crates, etc.

4. Availability

Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Willingness to do overnight stays or house-sitting, if requested.

5. Certifications (optional but valuable)

Pet First Aid and CPR certification
Animal care or veterinary assistant training

6. Transportation

Reliable transportation to travel between clients’ homes.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

1. Basic Pet Care

Feeding pets according to the owner’s instructions and schedule.
Providing fresh water regularly.
Walking dogs and giving them regular exercise.
Cleaning litter boxes, cages, or any pet-related messes.

2. Health & Safety

Administering medications or supplements if needed.
Monitoring pets for signs of illness, stress, or unusual behaviour.
Performing pet first aid in emergencies (if trained).

3. Companionship & Attention

Spending time playing, petting, or just keeping pets company.
Reducing separation anxiety and maintaining a calm, reassuring presence.

4. Cleanliness

Cleaning up pet accidents and keeping the pet’s space clean and tidy.
Washing pet dishes, brushing coats (if requested), and general grooming upkeep.

5. Household Duties (if part of the service)

Bringing in mail, watering plants, taking out trash, etc.
Making the home look lived-in for security purposes.

6. Communication

Providing daily updates (texts, photos, videos) to keep pet owners informed.

7. Following Client Instructions

How do I book a pet sitter?

You can book through our online booking form, WhatsApp us at 068 218 7559, or email us at info@abpetsittingservices.co.za We recommend booking in advance, especially during holidays.

Can I meet the sitter before confirming?

Absolutely! We encourage meet-and-greets for new clients to ensure you and your pets feel comfortable with the sitter.

Are your sitters trained and vetted?

Yes! All our sitters go through a vetting process including interviews, background checks, and training in pet care, emergency handling, and respecting clients’ homes and pet routines.

Do you care for all types of pets?

We care for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, and more. Let us know your pet’s specific needs and we’ll tailor the care accordingly.

What happens in an emergency?

Your pet’s safety is our top priority. In case of emergencies, we will immediately contact you and your preferred vet, and follow your instructions unless otherwise required.

How do payments work?

We accept EFT. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive an invoice with payment details.

Can I get updates while I’m away?

Yes! We send regular updates with photos or videos via WhatsApp so you have peace of mind while you're away.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand plans change. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance for cancellations or changes. Late cancellations may incur a small fee.
